Dr. Matthew Montgomery was born in Texas, but grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While on the track team in school, Dr. Montgomery developed severe low back and knee pain. With the State track meet only two weeks out and barely able to walk up the stairs with knee and back pain, Dr. Montgomery's father took him to a chiropractor.
